Bharat Mata Temple is a distinctive multi-storey temple situated near Sapt Sarovar in Haridwar. It was founded by Swami Satyamitranand Giri and was inaugurated on 15 May 1983 by the then Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. The temple was conceived as a place where devotion to the nation, Indian culture, spiritual traditions and the country's historical heritage could be represented together.

The temple building rises approximately 180 feet and has eight floors, each with a specific theme. The first floor houses the image of Bharat Mata along with a large map of India. The successive floors honour India's heroes, distinguished women, saints and different religious traditions, followed by representations of Shakti, Vishnu and Shiva.
Because of this unusual design, Bharat Mata Temple differs from conventional temples centred around a single traditional deity. It combines a religious setting with representations of India's cultural diversity, historical personalities and spiritual traditions, making it an important cultural attraction in Haridwar.
Bharat Mata Temple is important because it presents India itself in the symbolic form of a Mother Goddess. Unlike most Hindu temples that are centred on a particular deity, this temple combines spirituality with national and cultural themes. Its first floor contains Bharat Mata and a large map of India, while the other floors commemorate heroes, women, saints, religious traditions and major Hindu deities.
The temple is also significant as an architectural and cultural landmark of Haridwar. Its eight-storey design brings together India's diverse religious and cultural traditions within one complex, including representations connected with Shakti, Vishnu and Shiva.
