Temple Historyमंदिर का इतिहासఆలయ చరిత్ర

Baba Augharnath Temple, also popularly known as Kali Paltan Mandir, is one of the most revered Shiva temples in western Uttar Pradesh. Located in Meerut Cantonment, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has been an important centre of worship for centuries. It is visited daily by thousands of devotees seeking blessings for health, prosperity and spiritual well-being.

The temple is historically significant because it is closely associated with the Indian Revolt of 1857. According to historical accounts, Indian soldiers stationed at the Meerut Cantonment gathered at this temple before initiating the uprising against British rule on 10 May 1857. The temple therefore holds both religious and national importance, and a memorial within the complex commemorates the freedom fighters connected with the First War of Indian Independence.
