Temple Historyमंदिर का इतिहासఆలయ చరిత్ర
Durga Kund Temple is one of the oldest and most revered temples in Varanasi, dedicated to Goddess Durga, the divine embodiment of strength and protection. The temple is believed to have been built during the eighteenth century by Rani Bhabani of Natore, a renowned queen and philanthropist from present-day Bangladesh. The temple derives its name from the large sacred pond, known as Durga Kund, located beside it.
According to local tradition, the idol of Goddess Durga installed in the temple is self-manifested and not crafted by human hands. Built in the Nagara style of architecture with its distinctive red-colored exterior, the temple has long been an important center of Shakti worship. Devotees visit throughout the year to seek courage, prosperity and protection from difficulties.
