Temple Historyमंदिर का इतिहासఆలయ చరిత్ర

Devi Patan Temple is one of the most revered Shakti Peethas in northern India and is located at Tulsipur in Balrampur district near the Indo-Nepal border. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Devi Patan, a powerful manifestation of Adi Shakti, and has been an important centre of Goddess worship for many centuries. It attracts devotees from Uttar Pradesh, Nepal and several other parts of India.

According to the Shakti Peetha tradition, the temple marks the sacred place where the right shoulder (or a portion of the shoulder) of Goddess Sati is believed to have fallen after Lord Vishnu used the Sudarshana Chakra to dismember her body. Temple tradition also associates the shrine with Guru Gorakhnath, who is believed to have contributed to its spiritual prominence within the Nath tradition. Over time, the temple has undergone renovations while preserving its ancient religious customs and rituals.
