Temple Historyमंदिर का इतिहासఆలయ చరిత్ర

Vindhyavasini Devi Temple is one of the most revered Siddha Peethas dedicated to Goddess Durga in North India. Located at Vindhyachal on the banks of the River Ganga, the temple is believed to be the sacred abode of Maa Vindhyavasini, whose name means "the Goddess who resides in the Vindhya Mountains." For centuries, it has attracted devotees seeking strength, protection and fulfillment of their prayers.

According to the Devi Bhagavata Purana and long-standing temple tradition, Goddess Yogamaya escaped from the hands of King Kansa after the birth of Lord Krishna and later manifested in the Vindhya region as Maa Vindhyavasini. Unlike many Shakti Peethas associated with the falling of Goddess Sati's body parts, Vindhyachal is traditionally revered as the place where the Goddess chose to reside permanently. The temple forms part of the famous Trikon Parikrama pilgrimage, together with Ashtabhuja Devi Temple and Kali Khoh Temple.
