Temple Historyमंदिर का इतिहासఆలయ చరిత్ర

Galtaji Temple, often referred to as the Monkey Temple, is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage site located in the Aravalli hills near Jaipur. The temple complex is believed to have been established by the saint Galav, who is said to have meditated here for many years. According to local traditions, a sacred water spring appeared to bless his penance, and the area became a holy site for devotees.

The present temple structures were built in the 18th century by Diwan Rao Kriparam, a courtier of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The architecture reflects traditional Rajasthani style with pink sandstone buildings, intricate carvings, and pavilions surrounding natural water tanks known as kunds.

Over time, the temple has become famous not only for its spiritual importance but also for the large population of monkeys that inhabit the area. Despite this, the site remains a peaceful and significant destination for pilgrims and tourists alike.
