Temple Historyमंदिर का इतिहासఆలయ చరిత్ర

Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is an ancient Hindu shrine located in the Rajgarh–Tehla region of Alwar district. It is believed to have been constructed between the 6th and 9th centuries CE during the rule of the Gurjara-Pratihara dynasty, under a feudatory ruler named Mathanadeva. The temple site is historically significant and is situated in the buffer zone of the Sariska landscape.

The region was once known by ancient names such as Rajyapura and Paranagar. Archaeological evidence suggests that the site originally contained a large temple complex, with remains of nearly 200 smaller shrines surrounding the main structure. Over time, many structures were damaged due to natural decay and historical conflicts, leaving behind partial ruins.

Despite its damaged condition, the main temple structure still survives and continues to be an active place of worship. The temple reflects early medieval North Indian temple architecture with intricate carvings and sculptural panels that showcase artistic excellence of that era.
